This Week

I'm feeling good this week. Progress on my new game Blood Running has been going very well. I hope that people will like the new update. The game is sitting at 4,981 wishlits as of today. I need 7,000-10,000 in order to launch on the front page of Steam. With Steam Next Fest coming up in October, I think there's a high probably of hitting 10K-15K wishlists by the early access launch on October 28th.

The game is unrecognizable compared to the last version I released. The new art style really suites the game and it's a lot more unique now. The demo update launches this Friday so I'll see how people respond to it.

What's Next?

As for the future, I've already started ideation on my next game. It's a top-down roguelike shooter inspired by Hades. I used Midjourney to create concepts for the environment and they were incredible. I'm extremely excited to begin development on the game once Blood Running is complete.

Using GameMaker for the past 8.5 years is starting to get boring, I need something new to learn, a new mountain to climb. Unity is my engine of choice for the next game. Compared to Godot, it has billions of dollars behind it and shareholders it needs to keep happy. I don't see a world where Godot will catch up any time soon, so that's why I went with Unity.

Until the next post.
